The wait is officially over — Cardi B is outside and she’s not holding back.
After more than a year without a solo release, the Bronx-born rapper has finally given fans something to scream about. On Friday, Cardi B dropped “Outside,” her fiery first single of 2025, marking her return to the mic since last year’s “Enough (Miami).” And from the sound of it? She’s coming back harder than ever.
Cardi B’s “Outside” Is Giving Raw, Real, and Ready for the Streets
“(I’m goin’ out) On the pop out (Side) ‘Cause it’s hot out / (I’m goin’ out) You was playin’ gamеs, (Side) Now you on time-out.”
If that doesn’t scream summer anthem, what does?
Cardi B’s “Outside” Is Giving Raw, Real, and Ready for the Streets
Before the official release, Cardi took to Instagram on Wednesday to get the hype rolling. She posted, “We OUTSIDE this Friday!!” alongside the cover art for the single. The artwork paints a vivid picture of a New York summer block party aftermath: an overflowing fire hydrant, red Solo cups, dominoes scattered across the sidewalk, and even blunt wrappers. The gritty, chaotic scene screams Cardi’s Bronx roots and the realness she always brings.
But Cardi didn’t just drop the song — she performedit early too. Fans who attended Spotify Beach at the Cannes Lions Festival in France on Wednesday were treated to a surprise live debut of the track. And let’s just say, the French Riviera wasn’t ready for that Bronx energy.
Brutally Honest Bars? That’s Cardi
In true Cardi fashion, “Outside” pulls zero punches. The first verse cuts deep — and it’s definitely one for the quote boards:
“When I tell you these n***as ain’t shit, please believe me / They gon’ fuck on anything, these n***as way too easy / Good for nothing, low-down, dirty dogs, I’m convinced / Next time you see your momma, tell her how she raised a bitch.”
That’s not just a diss that’s diary-entry-level truth. And Cardi delivers it with the same raw confidence that made her a global icon.
But What About The Album?
While “Outside” has fans hyped, the question on everyone’s lips remains: Where is Cardi B’s long-awaited sophomore album?
It’s been seven years since Invasion of Privacy shook the game in 2018, and fans are hungry for more. During an Instagram Live session in May, Cardi got real about the delay — and the hold-up isn’t on her part.
“I really need these f****** features,” she vented. “And it’s like I’m not really trying to press or go crazy on these artists because I love them down. But it’s like, come on now! I need that! I need that right now! Helloooo!”
Apparently, she’s been waiting on verses from a few big names — artists she admires and doesn’t want to pressure too hard. But she’s made it clear: if the features don’t come through, she’s willing to do it solo.
“I’ll sing this s*** myself! But I really need y’all and I need y’all to hurry up… I feel like nobody want to miss being on this album.”

What Can Fans Expect From Cardi’s New Era?
Cardi teased that her next album will feature a blend of familiar collaborators and surprising new names. She didn’t drop specific names yet, but she promised that the features will be worth the wait.
“I don’t have a lot of features, but I’m working with artists, some that I have worked with before and some that I haven’t… It’s such a vibe. I’m 100 per cent confident with this album. I just don’t think what I got is out there.”
So, while “Outside” is here to feed the streets now, Cardi’s got something even bigger cooking behind the scenes. One thing’s for sure: when her album finally drops, it’s going to be worth every second of the wait.
