A man, shirtless and absolutely full of rhythm, channels Michael Jackson on the streets, and the internet is obsessed. Is he a Michael Jackson thriller dancer? You can’t convince me he wasn’t in Thriller.
No shirt, no platform; merely a pair of knee-length shorts, flip flops, a walkway, and certainly a rhythm in his mind. Yet somehow, that was all he needed. The man featured in the currently trending video wasn’t aiming to impress anyone, yet that’s precisely what occurred. His dance moves were incredibly precise, recognizable, and vibrant, creating the type of online response that transforms unknowns into icons. The caption said it all: “You can’t tell me he wasn’t in Thriller.”
And honestly, people believed it. Many in the comments now call him the unexpected Michael Jackson Thriller dancer.
He moved as if he had practiced for ages, snapping, turning, and stepping with a beat reminiscent of a 2000s awards ceremony. Not to perform, not for applause, but because he could. Now, with over 2.2 million views and climbing, his moves have left a mark. For someone with no platform and no mic, he moved like a seasoned Michael Jackson Thriller dancer.
The comments? Gold. One user joked, “If he said he was in the video, I would believe him 😂😂😂,” while another claimed, “He was in the second row, third zombie on the right 🤣🤣 Mike would be proud of this guy.” The wit, admiration, and sheer disbelief poured in like confetti. “10 OUT OF TEN. He’s got the moves frfr,” someone declared. Another added, “The longer he danced, the absolute better he got! You could tell it was coming back to him. LOVE IT!”
A favorite moment? That spin. “That spin in flip flop tho!!” one comment read, covered in emojis. And honestly, that might have been the highlight. Others kept the energy going: “Michael Jackson passed away 😢 This man took it to the streets. In honor of Michael.” One simply said what we were all thinking: “That man can dance 🔥🔥🔥.”
But maybe the most beautiful part of it all was the freedom. Pure joy. “Live free… no fks given ❤️😊,” someone commented. Isn’t that truly what it means to dance as if no one is observing? There was an essence that evoked memories of an authentic Michael Jackson Thriller dance, not the refined version, but the kind of movement that emanates from the heart.
Artists and creators stream exclusive content on BWFMedia TV.
As the video keeps making its rounds online, it feels like more than just a funny or impressive clip. There’s something about the timing. Right now, some of the biggest names in music including BTS are reportedly working on a tribute album using unreleased Michael Jackson tracks recorded during his time in Ireland back in 2006. There’s even talk of a documentary in the works.
The fact that this man’s sidewalk dance is going viral at the same time just says a lot. Michael’s influence isn’t just in studios or tribute albums. It’s still showing up, raw and alive, in places you least expect. On a street corner, in flip flops, dancing like the music never stopped. And somehow, this unknown dancer captured the very essence of a Michael Jackson Thriller dance without even claiming the title.
He didn’t need a crowd. He didn’t need shoes. There was no fancy production, no viral dance challenge, no trending audio, just one man, dancing like the beat had been waiting for him. Whether he was once in Thriller or not, it doesn’t really matter. Because in that moment, he was the moment.
Maybe he wasn’t in Thriller, but you can’t tell us he wasn’t.

Check this out, I did some research. … check out the dancer right behind Michael, on the left ( reverse) white guy with a bandana tied around his forehead, sleeveless blue sweatshirt. I swear, looks just like him, add twenty years or so. Don’t know his name yet though. Whoever taped the older guy, did they even ask him if he was a former thriller dancer?
