DRAKE BREAKS SILENCE ON "FAKE ABS" AND BBL RUMORS IN CANDID POSCAST INTERVIEW - BWF Media TV

When it comes to celebrity rumors, no one is safe especially not Drake. The rapper, who has long been a subject of internet speculation, recently addressed two of the most bizarre accusations about him: claims of “fake abs” and a surgically enhanced butt.

During a Tuesday, September 2 appearance on the “Not This Again With Bobbi Althoff” podcast, Drake finally set the record straight. And, true to his style, he did it with humor, honesty, and a touch of self-awareness.

Drake Responds to “Fake Abs” Allegations

The conversation kicked off with Althoff questioning Drake about his abs, which had sparked viral debates earlier this year. In June, the 38-year-old rapper posted a shirtless mirror selfie, and fans quickly began speculating whether his sculpted midsection was natural or the result of surgery.

He didn’t shy away from the question.
“I did not have a procedure done,” he clarified. “But ab surgery is definitely a thing. People do it all the time.”

When Althoff pressed him on how he knew that, and he responded uncertainly:
“Because people do it all the time,” he said, hinting at the fact that body-enhancement culture is no secret in Hollywood.

Still, he admitted that his photo may not have told the full story.
“I’d come from the gym, I was sweaty in that pic, maybe I went on Facetune and, like, put details up. Just being honest,” Drake revealed. “Maybe I, like, heightened the saturation. I think I hit it too hard. I hit it too hard. They don’t look like that.”

His candid confession resonated with fans, many of whom felt relieved to hear a megastar admit to editing photos something countless social media users do daily.

The BBL Rumor: “BBL Drizzy”

As if ab surgery talk wasn’t wild enough, Drake then confronted another viral rumor: speculation that he had a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL).

This bizarre claim gained traction after Metro Boomin dropped the 2024 diss track “BBL Drizzy,” allegedly aimed at Drake. The song referenced the idea that the rapper had surgically enhanced his behind, sparking endless memes and commentary online.

“People also say I got a BBL. They call me BBL Drizzy,” Drake said on the podcast, laughing at the absurdity of it all. “I don’t know if my wagon looked crazy when I walked in. Did it?”

Bobbi Althoff quickly admitted she hadn’t noticed anything about Drake’s body when he entered the studio. That gave Drake the perfect setup for a punchline:
“So then, like, if it didn’t stand out to you…” he trailed off with a grin, letting the humor speak for itself.

Fans React With Jokes and Memes

Drake’s viral selfie may have caused speculation, but it also inspired some of the funniest fan comments online. One Instagram user joked:

“Ordered abs from Temu n forgot to add shoulders n tri lol.”

Another chimed in:

“People laughing but don’t know chest and shoulders are arriving in a different box in 2 weeks.”

The lighthearted banter shows just how much Drake’s image fuels pop culture conversations and how he’s able to lean into the jokes without taking himself too seriously.

From Rumors to Reflection: Drake Remembers His “Degrassi” Days

The timing of this podcast appearance is interesting. Just a week earlier, Drake was featured in the trailer for the upcoming documentary Whatever It Takes, which revisits his early acting career on the Canadian teen drama Degrassi: The Next Generation.

In the clip, Drake watched footage of himself sharing an on-screen kiss with actress Lauren Collins, who played Paige. Looking back, he admitted:
“She had to be one of my first kisses, for sure. Damn, I never thought about it like that.”

The nostalgic moment reminded fans that long before the global fame, the platinum records, and yes the rumors Drake was just Aubrey Graham, a young actor finding his way on television.
