The Summer I Turned Pretty has officially left fans breathless. The Summer I Turned Pretty ended its three-season run on Prime Video with an emotional finale on September 17, 2025.

But the story isn’t over. The Summer I Turned Pretty will live on in a feature-length film, giving Belly’s journey the grand conclusion it always deserved.

Jenny Han, author of the original best-selling novels, will write The Summer I Turned Pretty: The Movie and also direct it. Lola Tung and Christopher Briney will return as Belly and Conrad.

The series finale hinted at loose threads from the novels, and fans who read We’ll Always Have Summer know some beloved moments didn’t fully make it into Season 3. Now there’s hope: the movie might explore them.

Major outlets are all over the news. People reported that Amazon Prime Video and Jenny Han confirmed the movie immediately after the show’s finale.  Entertainment Weekly likewise broke the news of the feature-length film and Han’s direction.

Fans are overwhelmed with hope and excitement. Many were heartbroken at the series ending, especially because some parts of the novels were left out.
